It is said that success is achieved by those who try and keep trying with a positive mental attitude.
Many Scholars and successful men have cited about positive mental attitude which are reproduced as below:
The following three quotes of Sir Walter Scott, (a Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet) regarding success are really important:
(a) “Success or failure in business is caused more by the mental attitude even than by mental capacities “
(b) “For success, attitude is equally as important as ability”
(c) “ Success – keeping your mind awake and your desire asleep”
The Principal author of the Declaration independence and the third President of the United States Thomas Jefferson said “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; On the other hand “Nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude”
What is Positive Mental Attitude:
A Positive Mental Attitude, which generally abbreviates “PMA”, is the belief that one can augment achievement through optimistic thought processes. This has come from observational learning in the environment and is partially achieved when a vision of good natured change in the mind is applied toward people, circumstances, events, or behaviors environment. But it is difficult to measure the effects of a Positive Mental Attitude, it is simply a philosophy and a way to approach life. A person practices “Positive Thinking” when they derive a positive sense of well being, optimism, belonging, meaning purpose from being part of and contributing back to something larger and more permanent than themselves. The objective is to create an outlook that translates into a new or better chosen reality.
Success through a Positive Mental Attitude
Adopting “Positive Thinking” the intention of experiencing change can be accomplished in a number of ways as below:
(i) Realize that positive change is required;
(ii) Believe positive change is possible. The brain can be re-programmed to provide support in your life.
(iii) Give yourself permission to be in control of your own life;
(iv) Your internal state is what creates your external world. So, practice awareness of your emotional state;
(v) Always move forward. Do not remember the past negative experiences;
(vi) When a challenge arises, moves forward don’t look back;
(vii) Practice affirms powerful and positive thoughts regularly;
(viii) Identify and eliminate negative speech habits e.g., ‘I can’t,’ ‘I’ll try’, ‘won’t’, ‘why’, ‘never’ or ‘I’ve never been able to’ etc…
(ix) Be satisfied for what you have;
(x) Build-up a positive vision for your life and also for others around you;
(xi) Keep trying to live proactively;
(xii) Surround yourself with people who have a positive influence in your life, people who speak the truth and support you.
Your life is the product and result of your choices. You always have (and had) a choice. You can choose to let the current state of the economy bring you down or you can choose to look for opportunities in the face of adversity and challenge. Choose to focus your attention on what you
can do and what you
will achieve. The way you choose to see the world creates the world you see.
When you seek success, help others to be successful. When you seek happiness, help others to find happiness first.
It is found that those people with Positive Mental Attitudes were over 30 times more likely to succeed in any given endeavor.
